John joined EUROCONTROL in 1992, and lead engineering teams in both the Karlsruhe and Maastricht ATC centres, working on the development of Flight Data Processing Systems, developing air traffic statistics tools, and modernising legacy systems processing airspace environmental data.

Since 2006, he has been involved in Air Traffic Management Security, providing support to ANSPs, Regulators, State Authorities and Industry on methods, tools, and regulatory requirements. He was a co-developer of the EUROCONTROL “Security Risk Management Toolkit” and associated training course.

Since 2008, he has been involved in the SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research programme, managing projects developing security reference material, and coordinating security activities in the programme. He is a security champion in the SESAR 2020 programme.

John is co-chair of the ACARE Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA) WG4 on Safety and Security, and participates in the EU OPTICS2 programme, and was recently on the advisory board of the Horizon 2020 PACAS project. John has co-authored several research papers with other ATM Security specialists.

Mohammad is from the second generation of Emirati Aviation Security professionals with almost 5 years of experience in Aviation Security in the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates.

He comes from a financial educational background with banking experience in various positions including financial risk assessment.

Mohammad’s interest in the business aspect of aviation industry eventually led him to pursue a career in Aviation Security.

Since joining the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE in 2011 as an Aviation Security Inspector Mohammad underwent a comprehensive international (ICAO/IATA) aviation security training program, as well as extensive on the job training, which enabled him to develop his knowledge, experience and competencies in the field of civil aviation.

Mohammad has participated and led over 300 hours of Aviation Security Quality Control Activities and in addition actively represented the GCAA at national and international level events and meetings.

Mohammad’s current work is focused on further development of GCAA and national aviation security strategic objectives, policy, regulations and programmes, utilising his field experience as well as his expertise on the UAE Federal government and international aviation security requirements.

In 2014 she joined OCS Group UK as Contract Manager for the Assistance Product at Gatwick, moving to the new role of Accessibility Manager in 2016.

During her career with OCS, she has worked tirelessly to improve the airport experience for passengers with hidden disabilities. While at Gatwick, she championed changes in working practices which saw the airport being recognised as the first in the UK to be classified as Autism Friendly In November 2016 Hidden Disability friendly, as well as receiving an Alzheimer's Society Dementia Innovation Award, again in November 2016.

He has held a variety of positions in his tenure with Pelco, including engineering and marketing leadership, consultant relations, and being responsible for Pelco’s Interoperability and Openness strategy and execution. Most recently he is responsible for leading Pelco’s development and growth of segment specific needs with a focus on Safe Cities, Traffic Operations and public transportation infrastructure.

With an educational background focusing on technology and cryptography, Rawling has a passion for all aspects of physical security and regularly speaks on cybersecurity issues and the challenges facing todays physical security market. After serving as the communication chairman for ONVIF, the IP-based physical security alliance, 2016 saw Rawling elected to the Steering Committee, and was appointed to the board of directors in early 2017.

At the beginning of his career Wilfried Covent was Police Commissioner with the local police in Belgium. But in 1994 he became involved in the aviation security industry. He first joined the (previous) Belgian Airline SABENA – being the airline security manager. A few years later he switched to the air cargo / express industry, to become the aviation security manager for DHL Express Europe.

In February 2010 Wilfried started to work in the airport environment being the Head of Security at Brussels Airport. Recently he moved to a senior security expert function within Brussels Airport.

In this function he has been appointed as Chairman of the ACI-Europe Security Committee. (Airports Council International – representing +/- 500 airports in Europe).
